OCLC: To keep people happy … keep some books

A recent post to the OCLC Next blog discusses how the Free University of Amsterdam is renovating their library space. Driven by students’ requests, the library will be keeping the books, “not just because of the information that physical books provide, but because of the atmosphere and comfort they provide.”

The post includes three tips for improving library spaces:

  • Involve end users in the design
  • Bring the outdoors in
  • Offer a range of spaces
